THE PASSERA FAMILY:
A HISTORY OF HOSPITALITY AND LOVE FOR THE LAKE.

The Passera family has a long love story.

Love for the art of hospitality, of making people feel welcome with elegance and generosity.

And a love for the lake that laps the shores of their native land, for that magical world of water embraced by mountains as if protecting it. In fact, it was on the water that Antonio Passera embarked on the adventure that would lead his family to dominate the luxury hospitality scene of Lake Como.

It all began with a restaurant on one of the stately steamers that sailed Lake Como at the beginning of the 20th century.

Turn of the century: Antonio Passera opens the first restaurant on a steamboat.

1920’s: The family takes over management of the Hotel San Gottardo, which becomes the best in the city.

1940’s: The Passera family takes over the management of the Terminus.

1958: The family acquires Villa Flori, built by Marquis Raimondi in 1859.

1985: The third generation of Passera takes the helm of what would soon become LarioHotels in the person of Antonello, son of Gianni, with a top-notch academic and professional pedigree.

1988: Villa Flori is expanded and opens the renowned Ristorante Raimondi.

1991: The renovation of the Hotel Terminus begins, officially reopening in 1994.

2013: Bianca, Antonello’s sister and marketing and communication expert, takes up the challenge of launching the Posta Design Hotel, a completely new concept of hospitality for LarioHotels and for Como as well, a boutique hotel with three-star charm and lots of great design. During the same year, Bianca recruits her nephew Luigi, and a new chapter of ‘double generation management’ begins.

2022: VISTA Verona officially opens, first hotel of the chain outside the city of Como.

2023: Work begins on the opening of VISTA Ostuni, the chain’s first hotel in southern Italy, the third of the VISTA brand.

Four generations, Antonio, his sons Corrado and Gianni, then the grandchildren Antonello and Bianca, and finally the great-grandson Luigi.
Six boutique hotels, each with its own style and features, together covering the full range of needs of different types of travelers. The Vista Lago di Como, VISTA Verona, VISTA Ostuni, the Terminus, Villa Flori and the Posta Design.

BUT THE STORY DOESN’T END HERE.
